Virgin Records reedita discografía de Magazine

Es probable que, a la hora de hablar de post-punk, los libros de historia dediquen páginas enteras a Joy Division, Public Image Ltd. y Siouxsie and The Banshees. En un injusto segundo plano, siempre estará Magazine. Producidos por los célebres Martin Hannett (Joy Division) y John Leckie (Stone Roses), la banda de Howard Devoto no sólo dejó un legado especialmente prolífico (cuatro discos en cuatro años) sino que reinterpretó el punk y lo llevó a los límites de lo que después se conocería como new wave. Un eslabón perdido imprescindible para cualquier discoteca que se precie de tal.

Lo claro es que Devoto y cía. volverán a un primer plano el próximo 24 de abril, cuando Virgin Records reedite sus cuatro discos oficiales: Real Life (1978), Secondhand Daylight (1979), The Correct Use of Soap (1980) y Magic, Murder and the Weather (1981). Todos remasterizados digitalmente y, lo mejor, con la inclusión de catorce bonus tracks. Entre ellos, un prematuro cover de Captain Beefheart ‘I Love You, You Big Dummy’.
